Welcome to Egret and Crew

Three years ago we decided to sell our beloved Sanderling as she was getting a bit impractical.  She was a little too big for the two of us to push around the docks and tacking a 150% genoa while day sailing was also a bit much.  There was also the small issue that Chrisy basically said her sailing days were over.  So off to the dark side we went.

We started our shopping for a respectable motorboat that a former sailor could be seen in - very important criteria.  Our search quickly focused on the "Downeast" style of cruiser and more specifically on the Back Cove 37.

Here are a few photos from the marketing brochure:

The Crew:
Roger - a happy captain whether he is behind the helm of a sailboat or a motorboat
Chrisy - seems to be happier on a motorboat where the boat can't heel over.
Millie - our 4-year-old mini Australian labradoodle who has no idea what lies ahead of her on the Great Loop, but she loves being with her pack (us) so we hope she will be a great crew member. Our guess is that she will be known by all the lockmasters with her relentless barking ability....
